60 Second Strike offers players an energetic slice of old school run and gun action with a firm focus on speed as you race around its procedurally generated maps, blasting enemies in FPS combat where where your time is also your health.
Currently in development by a lone developer who has previously worked on Destroy all Humans! and the Borderlands series, 60 Second Strike is a game that focuses on speed – so much so that you’ll be blasting enemies before most games have even reached the main menu screen. You start each randomly generated level with 60 seconds on your timer and a customisable load out of OTT weaponry, and must attempt to blast your way to the end before your time runs out.
As soon as you start a level the timer constantly ticks down so you have to be fast, you can blast enemies and gather crystals to give you more time, but get hit and you’ll lose a chunk of time – so you have to be careful.
It features multiple game modes that shake up the gameplay in different ways and you can also upgrade your weapons and ship to increase your chances of survival.
Visually it’s fairly simple, but 60 Second Strike’s custom game engine allows for plenty of speed and high-adrenaline retro run and gun action. Well worth checking out for a fast paced old school first person shooter where your main adversary is something you can’t dodge or blow up – time!
