‘83 is a multiplayer military FPS with large scale battles where over 80 players fight in an alternate history in which the Cold War escalated into an all out war between NATO and the Soviet Union.
Currently in development by the creators of the Rising Storm games, ‘83 is a large scale multiplayer military combat game that pits two 40+ platoons against each other in massive battlegrounds. It takes place in an alternate version of 1983, where the West has gone to war with the Soviet Union. Players will have access to authentic real-world weaponry, as well as a variety of land and air vehicles, and during matches players will fight over a variety of different objectives which can help turn the tide of the battle.
Antimatter Games proved with Rising Storm 2: Vietnam that they can make an excellent multiplayer FPS and ‘83 looks likely to continue the trend. The large scale battles are very enticing and the Cold-War-Gone-Hot setting is far more interesting than CoD or Battlefield have cooked up recently.
