A.V.A. Dog Tag is a class based multiplayer military shooter with fast paced FPS combat in a near future where war has broken out between the European Union and the Neo Russian Federation.
A.V.A. Dog Tag is a technically a sequel to the popular but now defunct Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A.), but it’s more like an update/remaster of the original game. This isn’t a bad thing as the original game was fun but was only run into the ground by incompetent management. Thankfully the developers (Redduck) are self publishing the game so now the’ll be able to keep it more in line with their vision.
Reddog are aiming to focus on the elements that made A.V.A. so popular during the 2010-2011 era of its lifetime, whilst still updating the visuals, balancing, gameplay and UI for the modern era. It features multiple game modes and rebalanced version of the three playable classes (Pointman, Rifleman and Sniper). It also promises no Pay-To-Win, with only cosmetic items being behind a paywall.
The original A.V.A. game was a lot of fun before the publishers drove it into the ground so it’s great to see it make a comeback with the developers in full control of its destiny. Beta testing is scheduled to start mid January. Whether A.V.A. Dog Tag’s old school gameplay will hold up to today’s shooters remains to be seen but it’s worth jumping into the Beta to find out!
