Albatross is a beautiful looking side-scrolling puzzle platforming adventure in which you travel between 1984 and the future at the press of a button solving puzzles that require a firm grasp of the causality effects of time travel.
In Albatross you take on the role of Stewart, a cowardly software developer who ends up in a research facility (named Albatross) that focuses on the study of spacetime. While in the facility you discover a strange device that allows you to instantly travel between the present time (1884) and the distant future. Things seem to have gone catastrophically wrong in the future you travel to but maybe you can use your newly found time travel device to fix it.
It’s still early in development, but visually Albatross is already very impressive and the current batch of screenshots look fondly reminiscent of Flashback, with an interesting blend of 2D platforming, puzzle solving and sci-fi game world. The puzzles are a particularly enticing prospect, with you travelling between times at the push of a button and your actions in one time having a causal effect in another.
It’s an intriguing and great looking time bending adventure that we can’t wait to delve deeper into. Sign up now a chance to go back to the future early!
