Aquamarine is a hand drawn Sci-Fi roguelite survival adventure where you explore the unknown depths of the ocean on an alien planet, with a hope of finding a way home.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer last year, Aquamarine blends roguelike, puzzle solving and survival elements as you explore a mysterious ocean after crash landing on an alien planet. From your base area you can use your escape pod to set out on excursions into the ocean where you can gather resources and special artefacts which you need to survive and upgrade your pod.
There’s lots to discover in the ocean, but you have to be careful – movement and actions cost energy and a lot of the wildlife isn’t too friendly. You’ll need to pay attention to your surroundings and learn the behaviour of the creatures in this strange new ecosystem that you’re in. You’re the alien here and the ocean is likely to crush you if you don’t respect it.
The previous version of Aquamarine was very impressive but this version is much more polished and more easily accessible. There’s a lot to discover as you explore the beautiful and dangerous depths of the ocean and the 70’s/80’s psychedelic Sci-Fi styled artwork is fantastic. Highly recommended.
UPDATE: this demo is no longer available (it was only available for a limited amount of time), but you can follow the game on Steam Here
