Assimilation is a beautiful and elegant Sci-Fi platforming adventure where you sneak and climb to the top of a tower to bring light back to a world that’s become overrun by robots.
Drawing inspiration from The Matrix and the Vex lore in Destiny, in Assimilation you take control of a glowing white spirit which makes its way through a world that’s been overrun by machines. As you make your way through the world you free trapped wisps and revive tree spirits, with an aim of making your way to a tower of light where you can free the old spirit.
Assimilation’s dark, dangerous and beautiful looking world is full of massive angular structures and patrolling robots. You need to sneak past the robots (or at least outrun them) as you embark on your journey and attempt to bring light back to the world.
Taking around 20 minutes to play through, it’s a beautiful little game which has a nice contrast between your glowing spirit’s elegant, free-flowing movement and the dark mechanical world it’s traversing. A captivating little adventure well worth delving into. Highly recommended.
