Axiom Soccer is a Rocket League-esque arena soccer game, with specialised goalkeepers and futuristic hover-tanks that can shoot the ball with five different types of weapon.
The adrenaline fuelled team based multiplayer arena gameplay of Axiom Soccer clearly draws heavily from Rocket League, but it does have some interesting ideas of its own. Firstly, the goal line contains a specialized disc-shaped goalkeeper that can block shots. These may come especially handy during penalty shootouts that will occur in the event of a tied game.
Due to the fact that the hover-tanks can strafe, they’re much more agile than their Rocket League counterparts and the weapons looks set to give you much more control of the ball too. There are five different weapons that your hover-tank can use (main, minigun, shotgun, grenade and deactivator), each allowing you different methods of ball control.
It’s a promising game that is certainly aiming to be more than just another Rocket League knockoff. The goalkeepers and the amount of control you have over your vehicle and weapons should make for a slightly less chaotic futuristic soccer experience.
