Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is a great looking real-time space strategy game that uses the power of the Unreal Engine 4 to bring the popular Battlefleet Gothic board game to life, with spectacular tactical space battles set in the Warhammer: 40,000 universe.
Players can take to the stars with fully customisable Chaos, Eldar, Orc or Imperium fleets in an epic single player campaign or multiplayer skirmishes. Each faction has its own strengths and skills, from the heavily armoured and deadly Imperium to the more nimble Chaos faction with superior long range weaponry.
There’s a lot of depth to the gameplay in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, with players able to use the environment to their advantage, such as using meteor fields as cover or hiding within gas clouds. The ships of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada look fantastic, near perfect recreations of their Warhammer 40,000 counterparts, whether they be small cruisers to massive battleships several kilometres long. Damage to ships is compartmental, so targeting specific areas to take down an enemies vital abilities can be key in winning battles.
With it’s beautiful visuals and deep strategic gameplay Battlefleet Gothic: Armada looks set to gain favour with fan’s of the original board game and real time strategy fans alike. It’s also the first RTS to use the Unreal Engine 4, and judging by the gameplay footage it’s utilizing it very well indeed!
