Besöket is a creepy little SOMA inspired first person horror game where things get weird as you go to help a friend who’s trapped in a strange Swedish cottage.
Created by students of The Game Assembly, Besöket is a fun and freaky little Swedish horror game where you’re a handyman who goes around to assist a friend who’s trapped in his house. When you get to the house you find that your friend appears to be trapped in his bedroom and he asks you to find the key which will help him escape. However, getting the key involves messing with runes and venturing into the basement where something nasty is lurking…
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, it’s a great little horror game with some fun twists, great voice acting, excellent visual design and a freaky monster. The basement sections could be a little better, due to the lack of any real peril and the monster AI needing a little work, but other than that it’s an excellent game. It may make you think twice about offering to help a friend out next time though!
