Blame Him is a tense and atmospheric first person horror game with that blends stealth and puzzle elements as you explore a long abandoned high school while stalked by monstrous murderers.
The current build of Blame Him is pretty light on narrative, but it starts with you climbing through a massive hole in your wall that leads down to a weird abandoned underground high school. It’s an oddly shaped school, mostly comprised of long corridors, but the level of detail is very impressive and there’s a real sense of dread as you make your way through it.
It takes around 15-20 minutes to play through the current build of Blame Him, with most of it being exploration and puzzle based gameplay, with a shift into a “run and hide from the freaky killer” style gameplay towards the end. The sudden appearance of a stalking monster/murderer is a little jarring and may irk some, but it’s genuinely scary.
There are a few niggles with the way you physically interact with objects (it’s a bit awkward to move them sometimes), but other than that Blame Him is a very impressive first person horror adventure. It’s got a great sense of atmosphere, high quality visual design and a blend of stealth, puzzle and run-for-your-life gameplay that’s fondly reminiscent of the Outlast games. A tense and freaky horror adventure well worth checking out.
Note: Don’t call the restroom elevator until you’re ready to finish the Demo.
