BROK the investiGator features a unique blend of beat ‘em up and point and click adventure gameplay as an alligator detective looks for answers in a cartoony cyberpunk world.
Currently in development by COWCAT (creators of Demetrios) BROK the investiGator features an anthropomorphic animal filled cyberpunk-lite setting that draws inspiration from 80’s/90’s cartoons. In the game you take on the role of BROK, a private detective alligator who uses his fists and hit smarts as he unravels a conspiracy that may link back to his deceased wife.
The gameplay in BROK the investiGator features a unique fusion of beat ‘em up and point and click adventure elements. You progress through the narrative and solve puzzles much like in a traditional point and click adventure, but sometimes the only way out of a situation is to fight your way out and you can switch to a fighting stance to do so. It’s an odd mixture of gameplay styles but it works well (particularly if you’re using a control pad) and there is a non-fighting mode for point and click purists.
The prologue takes around two to four hours to play through and is a very polished experience, with great artwork and high quality voice acting. The blend of beat ‘em up and point and click gameplay is fun and the narrative is surprisingly deep and engaging. A very promising adventure well worth investiGating.
