iOS and Android owners can now sign up for the Call of Duty: Mobile Beta, a multiplayer focused Call of Duty game that allows players to do battle on lots of classic maps from the series.
Currently in development by King, in conjunction with Tencent and Activision, Call of Duty: Mobile is a surprisingly good looking multiplayer FPS for mobile devices that allows players to get their CoD fix on the go. Visually it looks like a PS3/Xbox 360 era game (which is no bad thing for a device you can fit in your pocket) and it features classic game modes and classic maps such as Nuketown and Crash. It’ll feature familiar characters and signature weapons from across the franchise, and there’ll also be some new introductions – as indicated by the appearance of a Cerberus-esque three headed hell beast in the trailer.
A few years ago the prospect of playing Call of Duty on a mobile phone would be laughed at, but Fortnite has proven that AAA shooters can work on touch screen devices. It’ll be nice to check revisit some of those classic maps too. Sign up now to be on the frontline for the Beta!
