Chinatown Detective Agency is a beautifully animated pixel art point and click detective adventure where you unravel a dark conspiracy in a dystopian near-future Singapore.
Drawing inspiration from Blade Runner, Black Mirror and the Carmen Sandeigo games, Chinatown Detective Agency is a mystery adventure game set in Singapore in the year 2032. You take on the role of Amira Darma, an ex-INTERPOL agent who now runs a detective agency. Using your expertise you’ll chase down leads, solve puzzles, crack codes and get into gun-fights as you delve into a dark conspiracy.
The Chinatown Detective Agency demo build takes around 25 minutes to play through and is a pretty impressive start. The main character’s voice acting is great, but the supporting cast is very patchy (particularly the first guy you talk to). Aside from that though it’s shaping up very nicely, with excellent pixel art animation, a great setting and innovative code-cracking puzzles that are far more involved than a traditional point and click adventure. Stylish sleuthing adventure well worth investigating.
