Crucible is a first person hero shooter from Amazon Game Studios which blends elements of Overwatch, DOTA and Fortnite as hunters face off against each other in a deadly alien planet.
Crucible was originally released in open Beta back in May, but after a very rocky start it went back into closed Beta to lick its wounds and try to fix the issues players had with it. It’s among the first bunch of games that form Amazon’s first foray into game publishing and while it’s not perfect, it does have potential.
It’s a team-based hero shooter where you have to deal with the challenges the hostile alien planet throws up at you as well as dealing with your rival team. Dispatching alien creatures and capturing objectives can be just as important as going toe-to-toe with the enemy. There are 10 uniquely skilled hunters to choose from, which you choose a loadout of upgrades for at the start of the match and upgrade like a MOBA character as you play.
It definitely originally released too early, but the Crucible devs are keen to work with the community to address the issues it had. They’re already making good progress, sign up for the Beta to see how it’s going.
Note: If you downloaded Crucible when it was initially released on Steam you don’t need to sign up again for the Beta.
