D Game is a stylish hand drawn point and click mini-adventure that revolves around taking a little time to unplug yourself from modern life to enjoy a little time in the sun.
Created by the talented Bits and Crafts (creator of T(rip) and noitanigami) whose work feels like a breath of fresh air in the point and click adventure genre, D Game is a very short experience that’s about taking a break for some fresh air (and a little sun). You start the game plugged in to various media feeds, in a city full of TV screens that bombard you with entertainment everywhere you look. With a little experimentation you may be able to escape though and find a way to silence those incessant media streams.
It only takes a few minutes to play through D Game and the hardest part of it involves figuring out which parts of the screen to click on (especially to find the sun). It’s a great little game though with fantastic hand drawn artwork, striking visual imagery and a meaningful message behind it. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the increasingly media-focused screen-filled hustle and bustle of modern life, but we should all take a little time now and again to unplug, stretch our legs, get some air, bask in the sun and soak up some Vitamin D. Highly recommended.
