Alpha sign ups are now live for Dauntless, a fantastic looking new co-op action RPG that draws inspiration from Monster Hunter, World of Warcraft and Dark Souls, which sees you hunting down powerful Behemoths who were released after a cataclysmic event that tore your world apart.
Dauntless is the being created by Phoenix Labs, a studio newly formed by ex Riot Games (League of Legends) devs Jesse Houston, Sean Bender and Robin Mayne who have since been joined by ex BioWare, Blizzard and Capcom devs too. In the game players will team up and go on hunts for the massive Behemoths that can take upwards of 20 minutes to kill in epic battles that players skill and tactical prowess. Much like in Monster Hunter, once slain the Behemoths will drop loot that players can use to craft more powerful weaponry that will allow them to take on even more powerful Behemoths within the world.
We first featured Dauntless on Alpha Beta Gamer during the initial Beta sign up phase, but now it seems that you’ll need to fill in a separate form to participate in the closed Alpha test. It’s a great looking game with lush visuals, badass looking monsters and epic battles full of intense tactical combat – be sure to fill in both forms to be in with a chance of joining the Alpha when it launches next month!
