Deleveled is a cleverly crafted physics based puzzle platformer where every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer when it was a game jam prototype, the devs of Deleveled are now continuing to expand the game for a full release on Steam and Switch. It’s a simple looking but very inventive puzzle platformer where you simultaneously control two little cubes on opposite sides of the screen. You have no jump button, but you can use the gravity of one cube to propel the other an equal distance up into the air. You need to use this Newtonian energy transference mechanic to avoid hazards and reach specific areas of each level to move on.
The game jam build (still available here) was a perfect little puzzler and the devs have made a good job of expanding on it with some clever new mechanics (such as switches and the ability to rotate the level). The only area it’s lacking in at the moment is the sound department as there’s no soundtrack and the noise it makes during the transition between levels is a little irritating. These are minor niggles though and the core puzzle platforming gameplay is fantastic. Highly recommended.
