Destiny 2 is now in Open Beta on PC with players able to download and play it now via the Blizzard app!
It’s finally here, PC players can now set foot in the Destiny Universe and and sample Bungie’s ambitious massively multiplayer first person shooter. The PC Destiny 2 Open Beta content is pretty much the same as the PS4 and Xbox One Open Beta that was held last month, but with a different Crucible map, slightly shinier visuals (graphics card permitting) and the accuracy afforded by mouse and keyboard controls.
Players will be able to sample the opening story mission of the game, take part in a co-op Strike and do battle in competitive multiplayer crucible matches. The Strike mission takes place in a Vex Stronghold, known as the Inverted Spire, while the Crucible pits teams of four players against each other in the Control mode (capture and defend) on the Javelin-4 map.
PC players may have missed out on the first Destiny game, but by all accounts that was pretty much just one long Beta test for this one. So now’s the perfect time to jump in and see what all the fuss is about. To download the Destiny 2 Beta you’ll need to download and install the Blizzard app and set up a Battle.net account if you don’t have one already. Once the Blizzard app’s installed you’ll find the Destiny 2 Open Beta in the ‘Games’ tab of the app under ’Activision’.
