Discolored is a stylish first person puzzle adventure where you attempt to bring colors back to the world from a diner at the end of an abandoned highway.
The once bright and colorful world of Discolored has lost its color and is now just a mixture of tones of grey. You find yourself at the end of a desert road, in empty diner that may hold the key to returning the world back to its original multi-colored glory, but to do so you’ll have to think outside of the box as you solve a variety cleverly designed puzzles.
As you explore the diner of Discolored, you’ll find useful items that you can use to solve puzzles, chief of these are special colored prisms. When placed into certain receptacles these colored prisms will add that color to the game world, not just coloring it, but also adding an extra layer of detail – so you can see and interact with objects that weren’t visible before. If you can solve the puzzles and find all of the prisms then maybe you’ll be able to return the world to its true colors.
It’s a very impressive game, with its colorless aesthetic not only looking great, but also feeding into the gameplay and puzzle design. The way that adding and removing colors allows you to add and remove layers of detail in the game world is a fantastic concept and allows for some very creative puzzle design.
