Dusky Depths is a very snazzy looking physics based free roaming shoot em up with fully destructible terrain, randomly generated maps and over 100 ship augmentations and weapons to collect.
Dusky Depths features a rogue-lite adventure mode or that’s playable in single player or with up to eight other players, as well as competitive multiplayer modes such as Capture the Flag or a 64 player Last Man Standing Mode. It features permadeath, but even if you fail in the campaign mode, each new run allows you to unlock new ships and equipment, eventually allowing for a vast array of possible ships and loadouts to choose from.
The goal in the levels of the main campaign mode is to search for teleporter fragments that allow you to build a teleporter and escape to the next level. However, it’s not going to be easy, the enemy sets traps and the teleporter takes some time to build, during which you’ll have to defend the construction site from waves of attacks. You can place tower defense-style defenses around the sites though, such as turrets and walls, to aid your cause.
It’s a great looking game, with gameplay that looks set to offer plenty of variety, thanks to the huge amount of possible loadouts, randomly generated maps, tower defense elements and multiplayer modes (especially the 64 player Last Man Standing mode).
