Ectolibrium is a stylish 2.5D mouse-controlled puzzle platforming adventure that sees you leaping, clinging and flying through the ruins of an alien planet as you sprout seeds and transform a wasteland into a lush alien garden.
In Ectolibrium you control a strange alien creature who has been plucked from their homeworld and discarded as waste on a dying alien planet. You learn more about the world via two aliens you meet called Demi and Tillinghast, who each have their own agendas and philosophical outlooks for you to ponder as you play.
You control your character by pointing the mouse in a direction and clicking the left mouse button to jump. You can do several jumps in a row, which allows for a nice amount of precision and you can latch onto most surfaces by holding the right mouse button. The simplicity and accuracy of the controls allow you to focus on the real star of the show – the rich alien world that’s packed full of interesting things to discover.
The levels in Ectolibrium are large alien ecosystems full of mysterious alien structures and lifeforms to investigate and interact with. You’ll have to explore and experiment with the game world and plant-based lifeforms to discover their purpose and figure out how they can help you in your quest (or if you can help them).
Playing Ectolibrium is a fascinating experience that feels like you’re exploring and figuring out how to interact with a world that is totally alien to you. Sign up for the Beta so venture forth into the unknown.
You can download the Ectolibrium Beta here, but if you’d like to test the Steam version (which will get updated more) then just join the Discord Group and ask for a key in the #Beta-Sign-Up channel.
