Endless Blue is an old school fixed camera survival horror game with a PS2 era visual style, where a secret agent infiltrates a mysterious underwater research facility where something has gone very wrong.
Created for the HPS1 Summer of Shivers game jam, Endless Blue is a fixed camera Sci-Fi survival horror adventure set in a secret underwater research facility. Something very bad has happened in the facility and you have been sent in to investigate. As you explore you’ll search for clues, solve puzzles and fight the mindless monsters that the facility staff have been transformed into.
The current build of Endless Blue takes around 15 minutes to play through and ends just as it’s getting going, but it’s a promising start. The PS2 era visual style works well, the monster is satisfyingly grotesque and you’re definitely left wanting more.
The type-to-speech VO for the game is initially a little off-putting, but you do get used to it and it adds a little retro charm. The main character has a definite Joanna Dark vibe and there’s a fun little nod to Metal Gear Solid towards the end. Hopefully the dev continues to work on it as it has the makings of an excellent old school survival horror adventure.
