FAR: Changing Tides is a beautiful and tranquil cinematic puzzle platforming adventure where a young boy embarks on an epic journey with a strange sea vessel.
Set in the same desolate world as FAR: Lone Sails, FAR: Changing Tides allows you to captain your own ship as you sail across the remnants of a flooded world. As with Lone Sails, Changing Tides sees you figuring out how to pilot your vessel and solving inventive environmental puzzles along the way.
The demo build of FAR: Changing Tides takes around 20 minutes to play through and is a wonderfully chilled out experience. Once you figure out how to pilot your ship, a lot of your time is spent just admiring the beautiful scenery. You may want to keep an eye out though – you can do damage to your ship if you don’t lower the mast to avoid obstacles. There are two main puzzle areas in the demo that are a lot of fun to work out and you even get to check out the first of your ship’s transformations (of which there will be several on the full journey).
It would be nice if you could see a little further ahead, as even with the zoomed out view it can be tricky to drop the mast in time to clear obstacles. Other than that though it’s shaping up to be a fantastic game. Expect a great blend of environmental puzzles and stunning scenery as you set forth on your epic seafaring journey. Highly recommended.
