GEESE vs CTHULHU is a wonderfully weird and surprising arcade action game where a three-headed magical goose makes a stand against the mighty Cthulhu.
Currently in development by Anatoliy Loginovskikh, creator of Mushroom Cats and Mister Burnhouse, GEESE vs CTHULHU is a delightfully silly and beautifully animated arcade dodge ‘em up adventure about magical geese and Cthulhu. 1000 years ago the Goose Brotherhood defeated the evil Cthulhu and he sank to the bottom of the ocean, but now he’s back and is going to eat the Sun. It’s time for the geese to rise up and fight the forces of Cthulhu and send him back to the watery depths.
GEESE vs CTHULHU is controlled entirely with the mouse, with your interactions changing depending on the situation you’re in. One minute you may be dodging sea-life on an island, the next you may be shooting Cthulhu in the sky as in a shoot ’em up or dodging tentacles in a 1-bit platformer. Sometimes you’ll be able to fire back, but most of the time you need to dodge hazards to keep your plucky feathery hero alive.
The demo build of GEESE vs CTHULHU takes around 15 minutes to play through and it’s a whole lot of fun. The vibrant visuals, varied gameplay and super silly narrative make for a wonderful experience that always keeps you guessing what crazy twists are going to happen next. Cthulhu’s tentacled cosmic horrors are pretty well known, but a magic goose is nothing to be sniffed at either – especially a three headed one! Highly recommended.
