Glitchhikers: The Spaces Inbetween is a surreal freeform narrative adventure that will take you to the spaces between places on a night filled with strange stories and stranger characters.
A sequel to the excellent Glitchhikers: First Drive (2014), Glitchhikers: The Spaces Inbetween looks set to expand on the original’s premise and as you embark on a surreal late night journey. It’s currently in development by the a dev team that worked on Manifold Garden, Celeste and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, and it draws inspiration from that place your mind wanders to when you’re on a long journey – a stream of consciousness where anything could happen.
Glitchhikers: The Spaces Inbetween takes place in different locations centered around journeys – a car on a highway, a deserted airport, a moonlit park and a quiet train car. All places where your mind can drift off as the time ticks by as you contemplate life and dreams invade reality.
The original Glitchhikers game was fantastic, and Glitchhikers: The Spaces Inbetween does a great job of expansion on its surreal dreamlike atmosphere and freeform conversations about everything and nothing. It’s a magical experience that’s all about the journey, not the destination.
