Gori: Cuddly Carnage features a wonderfully weird blend of cuteness, chaos, skating and gore as a hoverboarding cat slices his way through hordes of bloodthirsty unicorns!
Currently in development by Angry Demon Studio (creators of the excellent Unforgiving: Northern Hymn) Gori: Cuddly Carnage is a third person hoverboarding hack ‘n slash adventure with lots of blood, swearing, dismemberment and cuteness. In the game you take control of the titular Gori – a cute space-exploring cat with some serious hoverboarding skills and a penchant for ripping unicorns to shreds. You’re accompanied by a wise-cracking sentient AI hoverboard and a depressed ship computer, and you end up embroiled in a battle against an army of bloodthirsty mutant unicorns that have wiped out humanity.
The demo build of Gori: Cuddly Carnage takes around 45 minutes to play through and is a crazy blood-soaked thrill-ride from start to finish. The hoverboarding hack ‘n slash gameplay is a little like Jet Set Radio infused with Devil May Cry. You can freely skate around the environments, boost, grind rails and slice up the mutants with tricks and special moves – amassing a nice combo as you do so.
Needless to say Gori: Cuddly Carnage is a pretty weird experience, but it’s also a lot of fun and impresses with its very entertaining blend of hoverboarding and hack ‘n slash gameplay. The fusion of cuteness and gore makes for a very unique style and the voice acting is excellent. Easily the best cat-hoverboarding mutant unicorn slaying adventure you’ll play all year!
