Greak: Memories of Azur is a beautiful hand animated non-linear action platforming adventure where you switch between control of multiple characters (and can even control them simultaneously) as you attempt to escape from an invasion of monsters.
In the full game of Greak: Memories of Azur you’ll be able to switch between control of three uniquely skilled siblings as they attempt to escape from their land after it’s been invaded by a race of monsters called Urlage. The current demo build features the first two siblings (Greak and Adara) with Greak able to use a sword and double jump and Adara able to shoot magic attacks and float through the air.
You can switch between controlling Greak or Adara at the touch of a button and you can even control both of them simultaneously by holding the left trigger. Controlling both simultaneously is a little fiddly and doesn’t always work as you’d hope, but it does come in handy, particularly during a fight as you have double the firepower!
The current build of Greak: Memories of Azur takes around 45 minutes to play through and features a nice mixture of platforming, puzzles and combat. There are a few minor issues with the simultaneous character control, but it’s a great game that really impresses with its beautiful hand animated artwork, creative puzzle design and innovative multi-character gameplay. Highly recommended.
