Guillotine is a delightfully macabre puzzle action platforming adventure where a headless executioner attaches the heads of executed enemies to give him unique abilities.
Drawing on the folklore and myths of the Basque Country (in Spain), in Guillotine you follow the adventure of an executioner who has lost his head. You can walk, jump and attack, but other than that your abilities are fairly limited, which is why you need to borrow your enemies’ abilities.
You do this by killing them and attaching their heads to your neck stump. The current prototype build of Guillotine takes around 15 minutes to play through and features two attachable heads (a chicken and a pumpkin). You can only have one head attached at a time though so you need to make sure you have the right one equipped for the right job.
It’s a great little game with a fun premise, beautifully animated pixel art and level design that makes clever use of your abilities. A fantastic little platforming adventure where to get ahead you have to get a head!
