Guts and Glory is a super silly and super gory physics based racing game inspired by Happy Wheels, Trials and Turbo Dismount, in which you attempt to avoid hazards such as sawblades, landmines, giant fans, cannons and wrecking balls as you attempt to make it to the finish line in one piece.
If you’re looking for tight controls and realistic physics you’ve come to the wrong place, but if you’re looking for laugh out loud carnage, decapitations, dismemberments and explosions, then Guts and Glory has you covered. Playing much like Happy Wheels, but in 3D, you don’t only have to contend with courses packed with deadly hazards, you also have to contend with some rather haphazard controls. Indeed, simply turning around a corner can be a real challenge in Guts and Glory. We’d like to see these controls tightened up a little, but once you get used to them, they can add to the fun – as you’re always on a knife-edge between success and certain death – never in complete control of your own fate.
The goal of each level is to reach the finish line, but in reality, you get the most fun out of Guts and Glory by attempting to find the most brutal and bloody way for your character to die. Whether you get bashed by a wrecking ball, sliced by a circular saw, shot by a cannon or simply land on your face, it’s brutal slapstick fun that’s bound to raise a smile. Not a serious racer, a super silly, carnage-filled time waster!
