Half-Life 2 RTX is a full remastering of Valve’s classic Sci-Fi FPS complete with ray tracing, remastered assets and lots of other graphical tweaks.
A free DLC for owners of the original Half-Life 2 game, Half-Life 2 RTX is essentially giving HL2 the same treatment as Portal RTX. The game has been fully overhauled with a bunch of graphical upgrades, including “RTX Neural Rendering technologies, cutting-edge full ray tracing, accelerated by NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation”. All of which means that it looks stunning and makes a two decade old game look like it was just released yesterday.
You’ll need a fairly beefy graphics card to get the most out of it and the download size is huge (82 gb), but it’s a very impressive technical achievement and a great way to rediscover the world (or discover it for the first time). Highly recommended.
