Hark the Ghoul is a retro styled dungeon crawling action RPG where you cleanse the foul streets of a twisted Victorian-inspired land.
Drawing inspiration from the interconnected design of the legendary Dark Souls, Hark the Ghoul is a first person action RPG where a ghoul battles the forces of darkness in a vast low poly world. As you explore and face horrifying monsters you’ll equip yourself with a plethora of unique gear, including swords, whips, pistols, and magical artefacts, each with its own utility for tearing through enemies.
The movement is a bit slow (and you keep pressing the Shift button to try and run, but it’s mapped to a kick), but other than that it’s a lot of fun. The gameplay is very different, but the actual worldbuilding of Hark the Ghoul does feel fondly reminiscent of Dark Souls, with detailed environments with lots of different routes, secrets and curious characters to meet.
