Holstin is a very stylish isometric pixel art survival horror adventure set in a Polish town which has been consumed by a mysterious presence.
Taking palace in the isolated little town of Jeziorne-Kolonia in 90’s Eastern Poland, Holstin will see you searching for your missing friend, while investigating a filthy slime that’s consuming the town. It looks set to deliver an old school survival horror experience, with you scavenging weapons and ammo, fighting monsters and solving puzzles. You’ll also meet some of the townsfolk, but they’re not often helpful to outsiders and they’re losing their grip on reality.
This isometric pixel artwork in Holstin looks fantastic, with high quality animation, dynamic lighting and the ability to rotate the camera through 360 degrees. The setting is also interesting and it looks set to deliver a big helping of classic survival horror.
The combat in the new Beta demo is also pretty incredible, with you actually able to switch to a third person over-the-shoulder perspective to blow zombies away up close and personal. It also includes bullet crafting, inventory management, stealth and a unique stamina system that penalises you for taking too long to aim. In Holstin you’ll either be quick or be dead!
