Holy Shift is a fun looking low poly tower defense game in which you use the hazards and resources in the environment to build traps for the charging hordes of monsters.
Coming it Windows, Mac and Linux (and possibly other platforms later on), Holy Shift offers a very different take on the tower defense genre. Instead of building towers, you’re building physics based traps for the hordes of monsters to wander into – essentially using nature to fight back against the unnatural abominations that are rampaging through it.
One of the most useful looking traps you can set are simple spring-loaded rams that propel the monsters into nearby hazards, such as explosive gas clouds, spinning blades of death or huge rolling boulders that squash anything in their path. You do have access to some projectile-flinging ‘towers’ too but they have to be situated next to a plentiful supply of ammo – so apple cannons need to be placed next to apple trees and bamboo guns need to be situated next to a source of bamboo.
It’s still early in development, but Holy Shift certainly shows a lot of promise with it’s great sense of humor, charming low poly visuals and wonderful assortment of nature-based traps for maiming monsters with. Sign up now for some monster splatting tower defense fun.
