I Hate My Waifu Streamer is a visual novel with streaming simulation elements, where you are a fan who’s desperate to get the attention of a waifu streamer.
In I Hate My Waifu Streamer you have just subscribed to a new streamer called Mio. She’s young, bubbly, pretty and charming so obviously she’s going to have lots of fans. But you want more. You want her to really notice you. Buying her gifts and typing things into the chat will help, though your dialogue choices can lead to very different outcomes (you may even end up going out with her). It all looks innocent enough, but there’s a dark side to the game too, that looks set to delve into horror themes.
The I Hate My Waifu Streamer demo features the first two days of streaming and takes about 30 minutes to play through. It’s an interesting concept that does a great job of framing a visual novel within its Twitch streaming UI. The artwork is great and it’s fun getting to know Mio. The chat from other viewers watching the streams are particularly impressive though and filled with all the funny, silly and offensive stuff you get in real Twitch chat. Highly recommended.
