The open Beta is now available for INAZUMA ELEVEN: Victory Road, a narrative-driven football RPG set 25 years after the original.
In the INAZUMA ELEVEN: Victory Road Beta you can play through the story mode or you can play the tournament mode online or against bots. The tournament mode is fun (if you can wrap your head around the overly-complicated rules), but it’s the story mode that’s the main draw. It features beautifully animated anime cutscenes, exploration, football, side-quests and a story about one character who hates football and one who loves it.
The football mechanics can be a little bit confusing, but the gameplay and production values of the story side are very impressive. It’ll also be Interesting to see why the main character hates football so much (maybe they’re an England fan).
