Isonzo is a new WW1 FPS from the creators of Verdun, where you face off in authentic tactical battles in the snowy peaks, rugged valleys and idyllic towns of the Italian Front.
Currently in development by M2H and Blackmill Games (creators of Verdun and Tannenberg), Isonzo combines stunning scenery and authentic WWI era tactical warfare as you fight for control of the Isonzo river valley. Battles will take place in scenic mountainside towns, picturesque valleys and the snow-capped peaks of the Alps. It certainly looks the part too, with the devs have using research and field-trips to authentically recreate the environments, the weapons and the uniforms of the era.
The gameplay in Isonzo will feel familiar to fans of the Verdun and Tennenberg games, with multiplayer WW1 FPS combat that focuses on realism, teamwork and tactics. The setting is very unique for a WW1 FPS game and it should allow for some novel experiences as you assault mountain fortifications and fight along fording rivers. In fact, as well as the traditional modes from the WWI Game Series, it will also have a new historical Offensive game mode designed to focus on the challenges of Alpine warfare.
It’s a fantastic looking game that looks set to make great use of it’s mountainous WWI setting. These devs know how to make a great WW1 FPS too, so this is pretty much guaranteed to be a must play. Sign up for the Alpha to enlist early!
