Light Trail Rush is a very cool futuristic anti-gravity racer where the player in the lead creates the track as they drive!
In Light Trail Rush players jump into the cockpit of futuristic racing machines and compete in fast paced WipEout-esque races. The main difference here being that there is no pre-built track – the lead racer (dubbed the “Tracer”) creates the track on-the-fly, leaving a trail behind them for the rest of the racers to follow on. If a player manages to overtake the leader then they become the Tracer and start creating a track behind them.
Players race for points, with points being awarded according to the length of time players are in different positions – so you needn’t necessarily be in the lead position to win. Players (other than the Tracer) can use a rechargeable boost to gain some speed and there are also WipEout/Mario Kart style weapons to pick up that can aid your chances.
Even in these early stages Light Trail Rush’s visuals are beautiful, the racing is fast and the controls are responsive. It would be nice if there was a weaponless pure racing mode as the current battle mode can get pretty chaotic (particularly if you’re new to the game). It’s a fantastic concept though and makes for a very unique racing experience where you’ll never race on the same track twice.
