Like Roots in the Soil is a short and beautiful experience in which you follow two different people as they walk along a path towards a common destiny.
Taking around 5 minutes to complete, Like Like Roots in the Soil is a fairly non-interactive experience, with you limited to controlling the camera as it moves around the two characters and their different environments. One character is walking through a beautifully rendered, Japanese city, while the other character is limping through a post apocalyptic version of the same city, full of demolished buildings, smashed vehicles and other such devastation.
As you walk and see the stark contrast between the two versions of the city the written narrative talks of a sudden force that caused such a large change. It elicits deep feelings of sorrow and trepidation throughout, but a resounding feeling of hope at the end as you realise the precise connection between the two worlds and their occupants. Highly recommended.
