Lost Lullabies: The Orphanage Chronicles is a Phasmaphobia inspired co-op horror game set in 1980s Lowell that looks set to be a more horror-focused take on the ghost hunting genre.
Inspired by the tragic true story of an orphanage destroyed by fire in 1960, in Lost Lullabies: The Orphanage Chronicles up to four players can investigate the haunted ruins, uncovering the tragic pasts of eleven unique ghosts. Gameplay blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and strategic ghost management. Each ghost’s story unfolds as a puzzle, requiring players to gather clues and utilize various equipment to either neutralize malevolent spirits or bring peace to benevolent ones.
The game features a dynamic map, ensuring replayability with shifting item locations and a complex, atmospheric environment. Four playable characters, each with access to a range of tools and abilities, foster collaborative gameplay. Players earn in-game currency to purchase and upgrade equipment from both a standard vendor and a more unpredictable Shady Dealer. Leveling up unlocks further upgrades, enhancing strategic depth. Voice interaction plays a key role, with certain phrases influencing the environment and ghosts. See if you can commune with the ghosts or if you’ll just be another lost soul who died there.
