Mathel blends match 3 puzzle gameplay with incremental clicking idle gameplay as you match orbs to slay monsters, collect loot and build your own village.
Incremental clickers can be incredibly addictive but the actual ‘clicking’ part can often be boring. Mathel looks set to fix this by replacing the clicking with match 3 puzzling, where each block of 3 or more orbs formed damages the enemy you are facing.
As it’s an Idle game you don’t have to play the match 3 game to progress – you can allow the AI to do that for you, but you’ll earn more damage if you do it manually. As you progress you’ll earn equipment and spells to equip your character with, increasing their stats in the process, and you’ll also be able to collect power-ups for temporary stat boosts. It also has an endgame, with you collecting materials and recruiting workers to build a village, which can in turn impact the way you play the game.
Adding actual gameplay to an incremental clicker is a bold move, but it could pay off. It’s an interesting twist on the genre and the monster designs and RPG-esque elements look great. Sign up for the Beta to join int the match 3 monster battling fun.
