Metamorphosis is a beautiful and surreal Franz Kafka inspired first person puzzle adventure where you wake up one morning and start transforming into a tiny bug!
Drawing inspiration from The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Metamorphosis is a beautifully crafted first person puzzle adventure where you see and interact with the world from a bug’s eye view. After waking up in your friends house after a hard night’s drinking you find that your friend is nowhere to be seen and his home is a little bit different than you remember it. The layout is different, the pictures of your past adorn the walls and it seems a bit bigger then before… a LOT bigger!
Much like in Franz Kafka’s surrealist masterpiece, it seems that you are shrinking and turning into a little bug. You must now embark on an adventure where you’ll use your creepy crawly abilities to make your way through twisted and expansive environment where normal everyday objects now seem massive and hidden paths lie in the nooks and crannies.
The Metamorphosis Beta demo takes around 10 minutes to play through and really impresses with its high quality visuals, surreal premise and fun puzzle platforming gameplay. It’s a fantastic experience and it’s especially fun when you go “full bug” and scurry through a lattice of broken chair parts that look like they’re the size of giant redwood trees. The noises and the movements your little insect legs make feel delightfully buggy and the way your character’s speech changes is a great little touch. Highly recommended.
