Mind at Sea is a beautiful, surreal and oddly peaceful psychological horror adventure about drifting away as you drown at sea.
In Mind at Sea you experience the final moments within the mind of a person drowning at sea. Lost at sea, without the energy to fight it anymore, they now decide to let the water fill their lungs and drift away.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, Mind at Sea takes place in an underwater cave system that represents the drowning person’s mind and collecting “Hope’s Blessings” to activate portals through to new areas. There is an eerie serenity to the game, but there is also a fear of death, represented by a glowing-eyed diver that stalks you through the caverns.
Considering the fact that it’s a psychological horror game about drowning alone at sea, Mind at Sea is a strangely uplifting and peaceful experience. The glowing-eyed diver is quite scary, but the rest of the game tranquil and beautiful. There are certainly worse ways to go!
