Mower Mayhem is an arcade lawnmower racing game that draws inspiration from SEGA arcade classics as you mow lawns and cause carnage with your high speed sit-on mower!
Drawing inspiration from Crazy Taxi and Daytona USA, in Mower Mayhem you race around a suburban neighborhood mowing lawns and smashing up everything you see to earn points. The game has a choice of two different characters, each with their own uniquely handling mower – one that looks like a normal sit-on mower and one that looks like a three wheeler motorbike.
You start with only a minute on the clock, but you can earn extra time by mowing all the weeds in different areas. The more time you have, the more damage you’ll be able to do and hopefully earn a place on the online leaderboard.
Mower Mayhem was created as part of a course by a team of five students at Yoobee School of Design, Wellington. If you didn’t know that though you’d swear it was an official SEGA arcade racing game. The handling, the visual style and the audio all makes the game feel like a classic SEGA Model 2 era racing game and it makes for a thoroughly enjoyable arcade racing experience. Highly recommended.
