MUSESTRUCK is a vibrant 2D platformer RPG following Journey and Quinn, two artistic friends thrust into the mysterious realm of Negative Space after investigating a fallen star.
In MUSESTRUCK you follow the story of two friends as they embark on an adventure that tests both their abilities and their friendship. Players switch between the duo to overcome challenges unique to each character. Journey wields illustration powers and a sword that creates platforms for traversal, while Quinn’s musical abilities power her blaster for destructive attacks and higher damage output.
The combat system blends platforming with bullet-dodging mechanics reminiscent of shoot-’em-ups, featuring challenging boss battles that require strategic character-swapping. There’s also a big focus on character-driven storytelling that balances heartfelt moments with humor.
The demo features a sizeable chunk of gameplay and has a nice mixture of platforming, combat, puzzles and boss battling. It’s a very wholesome game with charming visuals, a nice amount of humor and lots of quirky characters to meet. If you’re looking for a lighthearted and creative platforming romp, there’s a good chance you’ll be lovestruck with MUSESTRUCK.
