Beta sign ups for NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 are now live, with PS4 and Xbox One owners able to sign up for the 2v2 arcade basketball game Beta that’s due to start this Friday.
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 aims ot build on the fast paced NBA Jam-esque 2v2 arcade basketball gameplay of the reasonably well received previous instalment. It’ll feature more players, more signature moves, more game modes and a bunch of uniquely themed courts to show off your skills in.
The previous NBA Playgrounds game was published by Mad Dog Games, but this one will be published by 2K, which has allowed the devs to make use of 2K’s licensed music and former NBA player likenesses as well as using dedicated servers for online play. It’ll be interesting to see it they also adopt 2K’s aggressive microtransaction strategy though, which has plagued 2K’s basketball games recently.
The NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 Beta will run over this weekend, taking place between Friday 28th and September 30th. It’ll allow for 2v2 local or online multiplayer as well as matches against bots and will allow players to play on all 10 playgrounds. Sign up now to take to the court for the Beta.
