Playstation 4 owners can currently download and play the Nioh 2 Open Beta and any sword masters who complete it will earn a special helmet to use in the full game!
Nioh, the Soulsian action RPG which saw you fighting spirits and demons in a fictionalised version of 1600’s Japan was a big hit upon release and Team Ninja are aiming to go bigger and better with the sequel. As well as a whole new selection of spirits, demons and bosses to slay, it also features a refreshed combat system with new weapons and skills to master while wielding the supernatural powers of the Yokai. The Nioh 2 Open Beta contains a sizeable chunk of gameplay, with two full levels to battle through and two challenging bosses to battle. You can go it alone or you can play with up to two other players in online co-op.
The original was an excellent new take on the Dark Souls formula and Nioh 2 is looking to offer up more of the same supernatural sword swinging fun. The Beta will be live until November 10th and if you complete it then you’ll earn the Kamaitachi Helmet from the in-game shrine to use in the full game.
