NODE is a 2.5D puzzle platforming adventure where you don’t have direct control of you character – instead you program their movements and watch as they play out.
In NODE your aim is to guide a robot though a Cold War era nuclear complex as you attempt to unravel a mystery at the heart of it. You can’t control the robot directly, so instead you create timelines of commands for it to follow. There commands start off fairly simple (turn, jump, forward, etc.), but as you progress you unlock new commands that allow for more complex maneuvers.
It’s obviously a lot more slow paced then a traditional platformer, but it’s a clever take on the genre which makes simple looking maneuvers into complex puzzles that give you a real sense of achievement. Meanwhile the visual design is great and it’s pretty eerie as you delve deeper into the facility.
