Out of Sight is a cleverly designed second person horror adventure where a blind girl attempts to escape her captors by seeing through the eyes of her teddy bear.
A full reimagining/remake of the student game of the same name, Out of Sight is a second person adventure that follows the story of a blind girl called Sophie and her teddy bear. Sophie is being held captive by some nasty grown-ups in a dark mansion, and as she’s blind, making her escape may be tricky. However, she discovers that she can see through the eyes of her teddy bear and the two head off in search of an escape.
Sophie can walk around with her bear (pretty much in a first person perspective), but if she needs to interact with anything she needs her hands so has to put the teddy down. This then gives you more of a third person perspective gameplay (though it’s all actually 2nd person) as you move things around and solve puzzles from the viewpoint of the bear.
The demo build of Out of Sight is pretty short (10 minutes), but it’s already very polished and does a great job of getting you accustomed to the game’s novel second person gameplay. The visual design is excellent, the puzzles are cleverly done and you really get invested in Sophie’s escape. Highly recommended.
