Overwatch is finally going into Open Beta! Previously only open to those with keys, the Open Beta starts tomorrow, with players able to download and play the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The Overwatch Open Beta takes place between May 5th (tomorrow) and finishes on the 9th, and will allow players to access the full roster of characters, maps and features that will be available in the full game on release. This means players will have a choice of 21 heroes and be able to play four different game modes (Assault, Escort, Assault/Escort Hybrid and Control) across 12 different maps with teams of 6 v 6.
Xbox One owners will require Xbox Live Gold to play the Beta, while it won’t be necessary for PS4 owners to have PS+ to access the Beta they will need PS+ when playing the full game. It feels like it’s been a long time coming, and some fans have become a little disillusioned by the way Blizzard was handing out the Closed Beta keys, but thankfully the Open Beta is finally here! Now everybody can join in the glorious first person fun!
