Path of Exile, the well regarded PC Diablo-esque online action RPG set in the dark, randomly generated world of Wraeclast is coming to Xbox One, with players able to sign up for the Beta now!
Path of Exile has been around on PC for a few years now and has garnered quite a following thanks to its stylish visuals, fulfilling quests, spectacle-filled combat, deep character customisation and randomly generated game world that offers plenty of replayability. There are seven player classes available (Witch, Marauder, Shadow, Ranger, Duelist, Templar and the unlockable Scion), each with their own alignment in Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence – but all able to pick and choose skills from a large common skill tree. There’s also an intricate skill gem system that grants players powerful active skills when the corresponding gems are socketed into equipment.
It’s set in a dark fantasy game world called Wraeclast, which was once a mighty and opulent empire, but is now a cursed land that’s used as a penal colony. It’s a dangerous place, packed full of deadly monsters and powerful bosses, that sees exiles banding together to increase their chances of survival. The central encampments are static, but the rest of the game world is randomly generated, so when you venture out into the wilderness there’s no knowing what you might find.
It’s a great take not he action RPG genre that offers fun Diablo-esque combat, a dark and grimy game world, plenty of replayability and an open and diverse skill tree that pretty much allows you to build whatever character type you want. Sign up now to plunge your Xbox One into exile!
